Effective Management of Vitiligo With Ayurveda

Vitiligo, characterised by white patches on the skin, is a skin disorder which is caused due to the destruction of melanin producing melanocytes cells. Although Vitiligo is not life threatening and non infectious, the social stigma associated with the disease makes it hard to live with.

Vitiligo starts as a small white patch and gradually spreads to other parts of the body. In some cases they can spread out to the whole body at a fast rate. The spread and extent of the disorder varies with type and from one person to other. They can occur on different parts of the body like arms, feet, face, scalp and so on.

Ayurveda offers effective treatment for Vitiligo by limiting its spread and reducing the area of the white patches. Vitiligo is named as kilasa in Ayurveda. They are classified into three varieties as paithika, vathika and kabhaja based on the imbalance caused by the three doshas, pitta, vata and kabha respectively.

Ayurvedic treatment of Vitiligo at the early stages of the disease can help in limiting its growth and eliminating the colour difference effectively. If it is left untreated for long, the effectiveness of the treatment decreases and the duration required to bring it under control can increase considerably.

Cause of Vitiligo

Vitiligo is an auto immune disease where the immune system turns against its own body cells, mistaking them for foreign bodies and effectively killing these cells. Ayurveda describes these conditions to be caused due to intake of food with opposite combination, high mental stress and so on.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Vitiligo

Ayurvedic treatment performed under the guidance of a skilled physician can bring about magical changes in Vitiligo patients. The ayurvedic treatment procedures involve herbal medications, topical medications and other techniques to purify the blood and body from toxins.

The ayurvedic remedy for Vitiligo focuses on treating the cause rather than the symptoms. They involve a methodology to enable repigmentation while ensuring that all possibilities for its recurrence are removed. The treatment techniques are free of any side effects unlike modern medicine.

Dr. R. S.  Roy is a pioneer in Ayurveda offering effective ayurvedic treatment for Vitiligo in Kerala through Amrita Ayurvedic Medical Centre, a leading Ayurveda Dermatology Hospital, dealing with all skin disorders.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Eczema

A kind of dermatitis, eczema is a condition characterised by inflammation of skin. A chronic skin disorder occurring in several people, eczema can occur in any part of the body. The condition can occur in all ages, though it is most common in children and infants.

http://drrsroy.com/eczema.html

Ayurveda treatment methodologies are proved and tested to treat eczema without any side effects. Identified with the terminology of Vicharika, they are commonly found on hands, legs, face and neck. In children, they are found in the creases of elbows and knees as well.

Symptoms of Eczema

In most cases of eczema, itching is reported even before the occurrence of rashes. Other symptoms that are generally associated with eczema include: -
  • Patches of chronically dry and itchy skin
  • Patch of thickened skin
  • Recurrent rashes
  • Blisters and sores that tend to develop and get infected due to itching.

Causes of Eczema

Eczema is known to be caused as a result of vitiation in the three doshas including vata, pitta and kabha. The imbalances of the pitta and kabha doshas cause eczema that is characterised by thickening of skin, severe itching and oozing blisters or sores. Eczema caused due to imbalance of vata dosha is characterised by pain and dryness.

Modern medicine describes eczema to be result of immune system irregularities and genetics. They link the disease to several environmental factors as well. Eczema is not contagious.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Eczema

Ayurvedic treatment for eczema involves a change in the usual dietary and lifestyle practises of the patient along with other treatment techniques. The root cause of the disease is treated here which helps in eliminating the probability of recurrence of the disease. The various treatment methodologies are as follows: -
  • Herbal medications and ointments to sooth the skin irritation
  • Panchakarma for overall cleansing of the body
  • Stimulation of the immune system with leech therapy
  • Physical exercises which include yoga asanas and pranayama.

Natural Treatment for Uneven Skin Tone

A clear skin is one of the strongest desires of any man. Who would not love glowing flawless skin? But most of the people are forced at some point or the other to face Skin Discolouration in their life.

http://drrsroy.com/discolourations.html

Skin discolouration is often the result of the impact of increased rate of melanin, the skin pigment. Dark spots occur at the odd regions in the body and slowly start to spread giving uneven tones of darkness to the skin. The major causes of melanin production may be excessive exposure to the sun’s rays or the effect of some kind of medication. Skin pigmentation due to pregnancy and nutritional deficiency can also be the causes.

Skin colouration can be diagnosed by physical examination by a dermatologist. Personal observation might prove to be enough in most of the cases to conclude on skin discolouration. To find out as to what the cause of the discolouration is, the doctor may investigate upon it by ruling out the reasons one by one. Different skin diseases may also be the responsible factor for skin discolouration.

Once the doctor confirms the reason for skin discolouration, the suitable treatment may be decided and initiated. Ayurveda has the best treatment for skin pigmentation and skin discolouration. Usually, ayurveda prefers the method of using creams that reduce the production of skin pigment melanin and then use other ayurvedic measures to restore the glow of the skin.

Dr. R S Roy’s Amrita Ayurvedic Medical Centre provides best treatment for all the problems associated with skin pigmentation and skin discolouration. Within the framework of the legendary Ayurveda, skin diseases are easily cureable at Amrita Ayurvedic Centre

What Causes Dry Skin?

Our skin is soft and smooth because of oil glands found under our skin. The skin becomes dry when these glands fail to supply sufficient lubrication to keep the skin soft and smooth.

2. Dry skin condition may occur due to genetic factors.
3. Dry skin condition may arise from nutritional deficiencies due to poor diet.
4. Unhealthy practices like exposure to extreme weather conditions, bathing for a long time in the very hot water, using harsh soaps, swimming in chlorinated water, chemicals, and harsh cosmetics.
5. The skin loses its capacity to retain moisture, as we grow old. The extreme climatic conditions to which we get exposed, as we grow old worsen the condition and skin become drier.
6. Few underlying diseases like hypothyroidism, diabetes, eczema, psoriasis or seborrhea may also lead to dry skin.
7. Dry skin may arise as an effect of medications like diuretics, antihistamines and anti-spasmodic.
